A labor union is a group of workers who organize to advocate for better working conditions, pay, and benefits.

Feeling inadequately represented by the union? You are not alone.

For example:

Union members working for Sierra Forestry Consulting have not been getting earned LineCo health benefits.

Benefits are considered wages in California.

Workers in California have the right to file a wage claim with the State of California Department of Industrial Relations when their employers do not pay them the wages or benefits they are owed. A wage claim starts the process to collect on those unpaid wages or benefits. Wage claims can be filed online, by email, mail or in person. California’s labor laws protect all workers, regardless of immigration status.

Tip:

A "mass call out of work" refers to a situation where a large number of employees at a company simultaneously call in sick or otherwise notify their employer that they will not be coming to work, often due to a shared reason like a protest, weather event, or widespread illness.
